Update on Teachers Redruitment - Kaduna State
The list of successful applicants for the just concluded written test and oral interview for teaching appointments into the state’s public primary schools has been released. Successful applicants are to come with their credentials for documentation from Tuesday, 27/Feb/2018.
We received a report alleging that names of some unqualified teachers including those who failed the recruitment exercises have been smuggled into the final list of successful applicants.
15,987 successful applicants for teaching appointments in the state’s public primary schools would be subjected to another screening to fish out smuggled ones. This exercise is expected to last for 10 days. #EducationReform
Bad teachers cannot be sacked and then another set of bad teachers replace them. The screening panel have been tasked to ensure that no incompetent teacher makes the final list. We hope the panel won’t be corrupt or sentimental on grounds of ethnicity or religion.
We have appealed to the final screening panel to be fair and just in carrying out this task, as anything short of that will be viewed as sabotage, and officers involved would be compulsory retired or sanctioned based on the provision of the civil service rule.
Please report with substantive evidence, any SUBEB/government official who demands money from successful applicants with the assurance that they would be employed as teachers in Kaduna State. We can’t afford to compromise on the quality of teachers.
Gov Kaduna State.
